The AIPP South East Asia Sub-regional meeting was held on 6-9 June 2011 in Bali, Indonesia.
The meeting opened with a welcome remark by Mina Setra on behalf of the local host, Alyansi Masyarakat Adat Nusantara (AMAN). This was followed by presentation of the objectives, agenda and flow of the programme by Joan Carling, AIPP Secretary General. She particularly emphasized the importance of this meeting as a forum for members and network to come together for collective reflection on the join implementation of AIPP programmes and to share the key issues requiring attention in the sub-region. Secondly, she also emphasized the importance of this meeting in the context of the next AIPP General Assembly, evaluation of AIPP and programme development for the next three years.
Assitant Secretary General, Gam Shimray presented the Secretariat report of programme and activities implementation for the period 2009 to 2011. The report focused on the key challenges identified in the Fifth General Assembly, particularly on strengthening implementation of AIPP gender policy, indigenous women programme, organisational strengthening, capacity building, lobby and advocacy, and an overview of the achievements and challenges.
The meeting was participated by fourteen (14) member and network organisations.
