Our Ancestral Lands

'Our Ancestral Lands' is a (3 minutes) short animated film providing an introduction to UNDRIP, the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

Our Forest Our Life

This community friendly animation video explains the basic concept of climate change and its disproportionate impacts to Indigenous Peoples (IP). It elaborates on the international agreement to mitigate the impacts of climate change, particularly Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation (REDD+) and the key concerns of indigenous peoples. The video also highlights the collective rights of indigenous peoples enshrined in United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP). Another highlight of the video is on the roles and contributions of indigenous women in the natural resource management.

Human Rights, Campaign and Policy Advocacy (HRCPA)

The main aim of this program is to promote the respect, recognition and protection of the individual and collective rights of indigenous peoples through advocacy and campaigns, capacity building, and network and alliance-building at the national, regional and international levels.

Key Activities

  1. Capacity Building trainings on human rights advocacy; monitoring and documentation, and publication of Human Rights and related reports
  2. Organizing campaigns on human rights violations against indigenous peoples, including violations to their right to free, prior and informed consent (FPIC) and collective rights.
  3. Strengthening the Indigenous Peoples Human Rights Defenders Network (IPHRD NET)
  4. Organizing workshops, dialogues and other for a on the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and related issues, including the annual Asia IP Preparatory meeting on UN mechanisms and procedures relating to indigenous peoples
  5. Facilitation of engagement and participation of IP leaders and representatives in networking, lobby and advocacy work for the promotion and protection of the individual and collective rights of indigenous peoples at the national, regional (ASEAN) and international levels (UN, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, etc.)
