2. Trainers have limited knowledge on international law so this has hindered them in assisting the community in this regard; yet this information is very crucial for the communities in order to better face and advocate their issues
The program continued in 3 more areas using the same module. This happened as a result of the community requesting the training themselves. For the first training of trainers, The 22 trainers trained were divided into 4 zones in which they carried out the training on their own without depending on PACOS. They are also carrying out their own UNDP projects, and they really need training on project management. The 4 groups which were set up went to the areas themselves and have adapted the module to the local languages.
The exchange visit with the Kalumaran to the Cordillera was not included in the power point presentation. PACOS trainers along with Kalumaran trainers visited two communities in Angkilen and Dalican in Mountain Province. They also participated in the Cordillera Day. The exchange programme went on for two weeks and they were able to learned many lessons. The trainers were also able to exchange experiences with the Kalumaran and how they handle the issues in their own area. It was a very fruitful and interesting visit to the Cordillera. The visit motivated to continue the training. There were two trainers who were supposed to be attending this workshop today, but they are not here because they are very committed with their work that they did not want to postpone the trainings to be conducted around this time back home.
She expects to add more sharing of their experiences during the workshops. She concludes the report by pointing out that the main barrier in reporting are the languages making it hard to express what they really like to say.
