Membership |

|
Membership to the AIPP is open to all indigenous organizations and movements who subscribe to its aims and objectives. Indigenous organizations wishing to become a member should write a letter to the Secretary General expressing this and to include information about the organization. The AIPP Executive Council will make an interim decision on all applications, but the final endorsement will be made at the General Assembly.
Members and Network Organisations
Currently, membership of AIPP stands at 28 organizations from 14 different countries. The region and status of members are distributed in different parts of the Asia region (see table 1 below). Besides its members, AIPP has regular communications and contacts with about 80 other indigenous organizations and individuals. Some of these organizations have attended several AIPP activities and have been invited to become members. Efforts to get in contact with active indigenous groups Pakistan and Sri Lanka have not been successful. Indigenous organisations are urged to take a more active role and make the work of the Secretariat more relevant to local needs. Involving representatives in the various activities through committees is still facing difficulties.
