‘The Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP) is a regional organization established by indigenous peoples’ organizations in 1992 to strengthen the struggles, cooperation and solidarity among indigenous peoples across Asia. AIPP is committed to the cause of defending and revitalizing indigenous systems; institutions and their control over their ancestral homelands; and their own development and future.

AIPP is guided by its Charter and Working Guidelines agreed upon by its General Assembly. At present, AIPP has members from 14 Countries and has broad network for cooperation and solidarity with other organizations, institutions and advocates at national,regional and global levels.’

Report of Tech and Legal Experts on TK associated with GR in the context of IR on ABS Print
For the purposes of the discussion, traditional knowledge (TK) is interpreted within the context of Article 8(j) and Article 15, as knowledge, innovations and practices associated with genetic resources. Furthermore the traditional knowledge in question is that which is held by indigenous and local communities. Some experts emphasized that there are many types of traditional knowledge.

Problems and Issues of Garo and Koch Community in so-called Eco-Park Project of B'desh Print

This case study is based on Bangladesh, mainly involving the Garo and Koch indigenous community. The Government with the help of the donors came up with a plan to destroy the forest diversity of these indigenous peoples area by the name of social forestry and so-called eco-park project which is destructive to their lifestyle. The indigenous peoples were oppressed, harassed, humiliated ever since forest department has been trying to take over their ancestral lands.
